Music Magazine

Front cover
My first screen shot
First of all, I made the main image that would be on my front cover. I used Photoshop to cut around her and also used the clone tool to touch up on anything and make the image a lot better. I also made sure that i saved it with a high resolution so that I had the best quality image for my front cover. I then selected the font I wanted to use and created my title. I also added a stip of colour to the top for extra information to be added in.
My second screen shot                                                            After that I started adding in more information and building up the page. I added in a green banner and put it across the page and put my main selling point in it. I've made this stand out the most as it is something that will pull in the audience. I then started adding in images and making the artists names bigger so that these will be the first things they see when it is sat on the shelf.

My third screen shot                                                             I then started working on filling up the page. The reason i've made it look so busy is because it makes it look like inside the magazine will be packed because of the front cover being packed. The reason I have used two fonts is so that i can use 'Hobo Std' for the larger text and then 'Ridiculous' for the smaller print text so that it doesn't all look the same and so that it's easy to read. I've stucked to using the same colours and not used red or pink because of the colour dress the model is wearing in the main image. I've made it look quite clashy as because most pop/mainstream magazines are bright and in your face. I have also added in a photo of The Wanted.
Contents Page

I have given my magazine a house style and each page will contain the strip at the top of the page with the magazine title within it.

My first screen shot
This is a screen shot of what my contents page looked like at first. It shows that I have added a title and a sub heading underneath that. I made it orange to stand out against the dark background. I also added in a promotion to win limited edition earphones. This will be a unique selling point to my magazine, and it also includes tha page number where it can be found to enter the competition.
My second screen shot
This is a screen shot after adding in the main block of text. Because a music magazine is quite thick, I made sure that I had a lot in my contents to make it looked filled with things. I've included all mainstream artists, posters of them, and exclusive interviews and pictures. I laid it out in two columns because of the amount there is, and didnt want to make the writing to small otherwise some readers may find it difficult to read.

My third screen shot
This is a screen shot of my final outcome of my contents page. I have added in an extra photo at the bottom to pack it out, and I used a group that were popular to pull in the audience. I also gave my images a border to make them stand out a lot more agasint the back ground.

Double Page Spread
My first screen shot of the first page of the double spread
This is the first page of the double page spread. I have created a title for the page and a sub heading underneath this so the readers know what it will be about. At the bottom of the page i have sectioned off and changed the colour and made this the top 20 singles of this week so people are able to keep up to date on the latest. I plan to include images to this page.

My second screen shot of the first page of the double spread
This is the second screen shot of my first page of the double spread. It shows that I included in the text of the review and made sure that it follows the shape of the image. I have kept the text black so that it is easy to read agaisnt such a bright coloured back ground.

My third screen shot of the first page of the double page spread
This shows my finialised first page of my double page spread. I have added in photos of The Wanted to make it look more interesting instead of having just a block of text.

My first screen shot of the second page of the double spread
This shows that i have added colour to my background and made sure that I carried on with the house style of the magazine by adding on the strip of colour with the magazines title in it. I have also inserted my first image that will be on this page.

My second screen shot of the second page of the double spread
This shows that i have stated on creating the title for this page, as the name of the person of who the interivew is with will be a lot bigger so the readers instantly know who it's about. I have also started to put the text of the interview in to. I've used three columns as this is the usual layout for a magazine. I also made the questions bold and kept the answers normal so that it was easy to tell the difference between the questions and answers.

My third screen shot of the second page of the double spread
This shows how I have carried on to finalise my second page of my double page spread. I have added another photo in and added the strip underneath to hide he cut off point of the image. in the colour strip i then added a little summary of what the interview was going to be about. I also have added in a quote in to the middle from something she has said to make it look more realistic.
